Sorry I’ve been MIA the past few days. I’m on vacay right now, and in between traveling and partying my sleeping and writing patterns are little abnormal. LOL
In my shopping excursions I’ve noticed some trends for the upcoming fall season, denim leggings being one of them.
Denim leggings have been out for a while, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone actually wearing any. I’m sure that will change this fall, given that they’re in pretty much every store I’ve visited in the last month. I tried some on with plaid shirt dress at Macy’s about a week ago:

They had a cute button detail at the bottom, but I didn’t like the fact that you could see the outline of my knees. That might make be weird or whatever, but it just looked strange to me…

I decided not to buy them and I’m glad I didn’t because I found some at Forever 21 for $16 that were a darker wash, thereby fixing my kneecap outline issue.
Will you be wearing denim leggings this fall season? This may be one of those trends that’s just not for everyone….

Spring is upon us (at least for those of us on the west coast) and as always, floral designs are back in season.
Making a comeback are rose details, mainly designed as rolled roses on garments such as dresses, tops, accessories, etc. Freida Pinto & Eva Mendes have been snapped sporting this very feminine trend.
For belts like Freida and Eva’s, try one (or both) of the followeing pieces. The first comes in three colors for $31.90 at Nordstrom, the second chain belt from Spiegel for $21.99.

Or, take this “scarf” and wrap it around your waist for a belt. $60 at Etsy by 1000roads.
Casual T-shirt, $77 at Urban Minx
This silk tank would be great for a night out, $79.95 at EShakti.com.
For some adventure, try this sea green chemise dress, $120 at Etsy. There’s something I like about this one; it’s feminine yet still kinda edgy.
If you’re feeling couture, try this Spanish Rose Dress by Robert Rodriguez from FunkyLala, on sale at $278:
Asymmetrical floral necklaces are also a must-have. For a cheaper option, take some of your chain necklaces and snap on a hair flower, like so:

Purple was the “it color” for the fall and winter seasons, but it seems that the color blue is now going to be the dominant color for spring.
Eshakti has put out an entire line of blue tops in their online boutique.

Myshape has a nice selection of dresses with blue accents.

Within the blue trend I’ve also noticed denim dresses making it back onto the racks. No, not the denim jumper your mother made you wear to youth group…*terrible flashbacks*…Everyone from Ann Taylor, Miss Sixty, Bebe, and French Connection have made some really cute denim dresses you may want to consider adding to your wardrobe for those laid back, casual spring days.

I keep seeing this trend everywhere.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find too many modest options, but check out some of these:

I’ve never been one to rock the huge [insert exotic dead animal]-skin bag, but I will admit I’m starting to get into this trend. The truth is that a wild bag or other said accessory can make a plain outfit well…not. I needed an overnight bag to take with me on a few small trips over this past summer, and I wanted to buy something semi-fashionable, and so I splurged for a giraffe print leather bag.
If you like animal prints, but don’t want something huge, opt for a belt or shoes. If you don’t go for animal prints at all, consider ethnic inspired accessories in whatever color palette fits your wardrobe.
