Awesome song. Awesome version. And Hayley, the front woman of the band, is a perfect example of modest style with an edgy twist.

love it: Tal and acacia’s “wake me.”

catholicinfilmschool on Oct 12th 2009 03:29 pm

I’ve seriously been listening to their debut album all weekend. The sisterly duo from Portland, Oregon are the daughters of Christian missionaries. The experiences from what I imagine can only ensue from such a lifestyle shines through their lyrics—the wonderment of God and the beauty of a relationship with the Lord mixed in with a little feminine angst. Musically, they remind me of Tegan and Sara, another pair of sisters I’m a big fan of, but I think Tal & Acacia have a bit more soulful depth to their voices.

Wake Me is available on Amazon & ITunes for $5.99.

oooh he’s cute…

*Drum roll please*

The role of Joseph has finally been cast!

Portuguese actor Diogo Morgado has been cast as Joseph in “Mary, Mother of Christ,” an action drama about the biblical journey of young Mary and Joseph during the terrible reign of Herod the Great.

He joins Camilla Belle, Al Pacino, Peter O’Toole and Julia Ormond in the indie movie, which is scheduled to begin principal photography in October.

Morgado turned up at the end of a global search to cast the lead. “We saw a huge amount of young actors and a couple were great,” Foley said. “We thought we had finished our search when a tape appeared with this incredible guy. A major future star walked in the room, and I knew we had found the one.”

Morgado has been one of the most recognizable actors in Portugal since his debut as a teenager 15 years ago. “Mary” marks his first role in an American production.

St. Joseph is my beloved patron saint, and I was slightly stressed about who was going to be cast in his role…but I totally approve and can’t wait to meet the actors in person. (Hopefully.) What say you? Are you excited about MMOC? It will be in wide theater distribution April 2, 2010.

I “discovered him” when researching bands to bring to Catholic Underground LA this summer. I’m officially a HUGE fan. He can’t make it this summer, but hopefully we’ll book him for next year.

caitlin crosby at Catholic underground.

The very talented actress and singer Caitlin Crosby was at Catholic UndergroundLA this weekend.

Caitlin just signed a contract with Atlantic Records and has been recording every day for weeks so her voice would only allow her to sing a few songs, but she was marvelous nevertheless.

Check out her song “Generation” which I hope and pray will be a single.

New music: jazmine sullivan

catholicinfilmschool on Oct 2nd 2008 05:48 pm

I bought Jazmine Sullivan’s new album “Fearless” two days ago and have been listening to it constantly since then.

She has a beautiful sultry voice that matches her R&B tracks effortlessly. If you like R&B, I would highly suggest you get this album in your life. Her lyrics talk about everything from liking a guy’s best friend to domestic violence.

My favorite song, Lions, Tigers, & Bears:

And here is a live performance for her first single Need U Bad on the Tonight Show.

Cute outfit, btw:
