Do you wear the veil?

As I have just added a category for places to find quality chapel veils, I thought I’d explore the subject.
From 4Marks.com:
When a woman covers her head in the Catholic Church it symbolizes her dignity and humility before God, not men. It is no surprise women of today have so easily abandoned the tradition of the chapel veil (head covering) when the two greatest meanings of the veil are purity and humility.
I never thought about wearing a veil until about a year ago. I wear one occasionally to adoration, but I have never covered my hair during mass. I’d like to, but it feels like it’d be more of a distraction to others than anything else. But there is still one shred of reason that moves me:
Those women who love Jesus must come to realize the imitation of His Mother in wearing a chapel veil (head covering) and in other virtues is a small sacrifice to make in order to grow in spiritual understanding of purity, humility and love.
Veiling is a sacrifice. So I ask, do you where the veil?

Yes I wear a veil, but I am not Catholic.
Dear one, if the Lord has placed it on your heart to cover, then by all means, you go right on ahead and don’t worry about all the ‘what if’s’.
I don’t see how headcovering would be a distraction. The Catholic church held on to that aspect of the Bible for YEARS and it was only recently, in the past 30-40 years that women stopped covering. I think I read something about it happening with Vatican II, but I could be mistaken.
We as Christians shouldn’t be worried about what others might say about us. We aren’t put on this earth to please them, we were put here to be that shining light for Jesus Christ.
You can do this girl! Do it for the Lord! <

I actually want to… but I feel kinda like it would just draw more attention to me in my current parish, which is the opposite from what it’s meant to do.
Also, to be honest, I don’t feel like I’m ‘good enough’ to make such a gesture. Like doing something like that would make me stand out as unusually pious at my Church when I’m sure I’m one of the worst people there! I don’t feel worthy of it.
As it is, I try to wear smart clothes and I tend to tie my hair back in a bun so it’s not very ‘visible’, as it were.
Having said all that, I think it’s a great choice if you do it!
God bless!
I have worn a veil for th past 2 months. Have received nothing but positive comments. In fact, I’ve given your list of chapel veil links to several other women. Hopefully it will start a trend. I’m far from being perfect, but totally humble before God.
